Police say it’s still too early to say when charges may be laid in a weekend homicide on the Moosomin First Nation.
Battlefords RCMP Inspector John Sutherland says Regina’s Major Crime Unit has taken the lead on the investigation and will determine what will happen going forward.
“That will be up to the major crimes unit as they proceed with their investigation,” he says.
RCMP were called to a report of an assault at about 4:40 a.m. Sunday at a home on the Moosomin First Nation.
Twenty-year-old Bryan Darnell Blackstar died at the scene.
An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for tomorrow.
A 19-year-old man and 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the matter.
