Battlefords RCMP have charged two men with second degree murder in connection with a homicide that occurred on the Moosomin First Nation this past weekend.
Nineteen-year-old Taryn Lee Cote of Saulteaux First Nation and 18-year-old Troy Andrew Swiftwolfe of Moosomin First Nation have been charged.
The two appeared in North Battleford provincial court this morning and are set to appear in court again on Mar.5.
Twenty-four-year-old Bryan Darnell Blackstar died after an assault early Sunday morning.
The Moosomin First Nation is also planning a community meeting.
The hope is to get suggestions from community on how to prevent any further tragedies.
No date for the meeting has been announced.
Chief Bradley Swiftwolfe and council were meeting this morning.
A band office official says they hope to learn the date of the community meeting after the council meeting.
