The body of a Grandmother’s Bay man who fell through the ice on his snowmobile back in November has been finally recovered.
RCMP say that local volunteers found the body of 66-year-old Solomon Roberts in Otter Lake, near Grandmother’s Bay, at around 10:20 Saturday morning.
Roberts drowned after his snow machine fell through the ice on Otter Lake in the early afternoon of November 12.
An RCMP dive team was deployed shortly after the incident, but was unsuccessful in recovering his body.
No foul play is suspected, but the Stanley Mission RCMP and the coroner’s office are continuing to investigate.
Victim services are assisting the victim’s family.
Grandmother’s Bay is located 96 km northeast of La Ronge.
