One of the companies at the Fort a la Corne mining site east of Prince Albert has uncovered a diamond nearly twenty carats in size.
Shore Gold announced the discovery through its website, stating the stone could be worth as much as $40,000.
Currently, two major companies are working at the site in an attempt to determine whether or not a major diamond mine would be commercially viable.
The site itself is located just a few kilometres from the James Smith Cree Nation reserve.
