A 29-year-old man is facing a number of weapons-related charges after a botched robbery of a north Regina bingo hall on Sunday night.

A little before 9 p.m., a man was seen outside the establishment — with what appeared to be a handgun — asking patrons for money as they entered.

After being unsuccessful at this, he entered the bingo hall, grabbed money off of one of the tables and fled through a door where he was quickly apprehended by police.

The suspect allegedly had a pellet gun in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Adrian Angus Southwind is charged with armed robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, failure to comply with an undertaking and use of an imitation firearm during an offence.

He appeared in court this morning.
