Harrison Upset with Liberal Committee Colleagues

Northern Saskatchewan MP Jeremy Harrison says the treatment a Metis war veteran got at a Commons committee meeting yesterday was reprehensible.
Harrison says the Aboriginal Affairs committee was considering a Conservative motion recommending recognition of the discrepancies in compensation for Canada’s First Nations and Metis war veterans.
He says all Opposition parties were in favour of it, and it would have passed because they hold the majority, but the Liberal members of the committee insisted that the meeting adjourn without a vote on the issue.
Harrison is especially annoyed that this all happened in the presence of a Metis war veteran.
Harrison says prior to this development, the Metis veteran had told the Committee how the government has refused to even acknowledge — let alone compensate — Metis war veterans.
