Mail Theft Suspect Makes Court Appearance

A 19-year-old woman from La Ronge accused of stealing mail from the local post office made a brief court appearance in the community today.
Miranda Michelle Pappenfus is charged with one count of mail theft and was scheduled to enter a plea today.
However, that’s been adjourned until November 22nd.
Pappenfus was employed by a contractor hired to do work inside the Canada Post building in La Ronge.
Police say they recovered a number of pilfered items in a search of a local home earlier this fall — including cheques, CDs and movies.
The RCMP says Canada Post employees in La Ronge were not involved in the thefts.
