A suspect in the kidnapping and attempted murder of an elderly woman in northern Saskatchewan last week made his first court appearance Monday.
Thirty-year-old Kevin Brian Henderson was arrested early Saturday morning by the Prince Albert Police Service.
A 66-year-old woman was assaulted and had her car stolen at a medical clinic in Montreal Lake last week.
Police responded to a tip around 2 a.m. that Henderson might be located in an East Hill residence.
They spotted him in the vicinity of the residence and a lengthy foot pursuit ensued before he was apprehended.
Aside from kidnapping and attempted murder, Henderson also faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery, two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, six counts of breach of recognizance, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon.
He is due back in court Tuesday and remains in custody.
The other suspect, 26-year-old Shantel Lauren Mike, was arrested Wednesday in Prince Albert.
She has a bail hearing scheduled for later this week.
