Flying Dust Radio Announcer Wins Award

The 10th Annual First Nations Awards were handed out in Regina last night.

 

Awards were handed out in a total of 13 categories.

 

A few northerners made the podium.

 

They include Hatchet Lake education director Rosalie Tsannie-Burseth, who won in the Education category.

 

Another winner from the North was Flying Dust radio personality Dwayne “Babes” Derocher, who won in the journalism category.

 

Also recognized yesterday was the Charles Confectionary and Gas Bar in Pelican Narrows, which got the nod in the business category.

 

Other winners include Neil McLeod in Arts and Entertainment, Rosella McKay in Medicine and Health, James Pratt in Justice, Grant Severight for Social Work, Tony Cote in the Veterans category, Samantha Dustyhorn for Sports and Recreation and Teresa Stevenson, who took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.
