SaskPower continues to hold discussions with a First Nations community in northern Saskatchewan about a possible hydroelectric project.
The proposed Tazi Twé Project is a water diversion hydroelectric project that would be located on reserve land owned by the Black Lake First Nation.
SaskPower spokesperson Tyler Hopson says getting support from the Blake Lake community is critical for the project to go ahead.
“We really view it as a partnership, so having the community in agreement with the project is what SaskPower is looking for,” he says. “I don’t think the project will progress without good community support.”
Hopson says discussions are ongoing and have yet to come to a conclusion.
