A name familiar to MBC listeners is taking a stab at provincial politics.
Former Michif announcer Vince Natomagan has announced his intention to seek the Saskatchewan Party nomination in the northern riding of Athabasca.
The 44-year-old has spent the last several years negotiating economic development, housing and education deals with Pinehouse Business North.
The self-described trapper’s son is convinced a Saskatchewan Party representative in the north will get much more done.
“We feel that it’s better to be on the decision-making tables the next go around in Regina rather than standing outside in the cold while the decisions are being made inside.”
The riding is currently held by longtime NDP MLA Buckley Belanger.
The Green Party has nominated Max Morin of Beauval to be its candidate in the next provincial election.
