An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday after a body was found in the North Saskatchewan River on the weekend.

Prince Albert police say the discovery was made around 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon by kayakers who found the remains east of the city near the airport.

The body was removed from the water with the help of the Prince Albert fire department.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the person but say it is not a 27-year-old man reported missing last week.

Timothy Charette was last seen on Oct. 8 in downtown Prince Albert.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
