It appears the Saskatchewan Party has no shortage of possible replacements for a candidate in northwest Saskatchewan who abruptly withdrew last week.

Vince Natomagan surprised many when he decided to end his bid for the party nomination in Athabasca — especially considering he was about to be acclaimed as the candidate.

But party executive director Patrick Bundrock says since Natomagan’s announcement, a number of possibilities have emerged.

“A couple of people have already expressed interest since the news broke about Mr. Natomagan and we’ve also reached out to a few other people.”

Bundrock says even though the party has to re-start the nomination process, a candidate should be in place before the end of March.

He also says the party understands Natomagan had to make a difficult decison, but that family comes first.
