An RCMP member has been charged with impaired driving in relation to an ATV accident that occurred last summer in the northern community of Wollaston Lake.
Constable Kevin Granrude was off-duty on June 10 when he rolled the RCMP ATV just outside the community around 1:30 a.m.
He was thrown from the vehicle and sustained serious head injuries.
It is believed Granrude was not wearing a helmet at the time.
He has since been released from hospital and is working at a rural RCMP detachment in Swift Current.
The 44-year-old constable, who is a nine-year veteran of the RCMP, is charged with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit of .08 blood alcohol level.
Granrude is also the subject of an internal RCMP code of conduct investigation.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 11 in Wollaston Lake.
