Twenty people are taking part in the Aboriginal Youth Leadership Symposium this week.

The symposium is open to Aboriginal youth between the ages of 19 and 29.

As part of the event, participants take part in workshops on finance, traditional knowledge and governance.

Other workshops include leadership strategies and wellness.

The Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan is hosting the event and it is paying the cost of tuition fees, books and accommodation for selected applicants.

The symposium began on Monday and wraps up on Friday.

It is being held at the Radisson Hotel in Saskatoon.
