**UPDATE** The Amber Alert issued earlier today has been cancelled. Kayla Natomagan was located safe and sound by members from the Cranberry Portage RCMP Detachment in Manitoba. The suspect, Jonas Budd, has not been located. Jonas Budd is still considered armed and dangerous. Investigators believe he fled on foot into the bush. Investigators from Saskatchewan and Manitoba RCMP are currently searching this area to locate Jonas Budd.
RCMP say a male was murdered just prior to the abduction of a teen from a residence on a La Ronge-area reserve this morning.
Mounties have issued an Amber Alert for 17-year-old Kayla Natomagan.
Police say she was abducted from a residence on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band shortly after 3:00 am today.
RCMP believe she was abducted by 43-year-old Jonas Budd, who is also the suspect in the shooting.
According to the Mounties, there were three people in the home prior to the shooting and abduction — Kayla, the murder victim and Budd.
Police say Kayla is the daughter of Budd’s estranged common-law spouse.
Budd is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees Budd or Kayla is asked to immediately call 911.
Budd is not to be approached as investigators believe he has a rifle on him.
