A man managed to escape a house fire on the Yellow Quill First Nation over the weekend — but not before suffering minor injuries.
RCMP became aware of the fire at about 3:45 Saturday afternoon.
When Mounties arrived on the scene, the home was already engulfed in flames.
The man, who was the lone person inside the residence at the time, had already got out of the home and was walking around in front of the building.
He was sent to the Kelvington hospital with “minor smoke/fire-related injuries”, but was later released.
Mounties say Provincial Rapid Response, the Office of the Fire Commissioner and SaskPower and SaskEnergy employees helped put out the fire.
At last word, the cause of the blaze wasn’t known, but Rose Valley RCMP were continuing their investigation.
