Two people from Red Pheasant Fist Nation face a number of charges after a police car was rammed on the weekend.

Battlefords RCMP say three vehicles unlawfully entered a rural farm building in the RM of Battle River on early Saturday morning and fled the scene once police arrived.

During the chase one of the vehicles slammed into a police cruiser.

The lone RCMP officer in the vehicle was treated at a hospital, but has since been released.

A short time later police say they arrested the 18 year old driver and his 17 year-old passenger.

Both face several charges in relation to the incident including Assault on a Police Officer with a weapon.

They will be appearing in provincial court today.

One of the other two vehicles was found burnt out on Red Pheasant First Nation while the other vehicle was found near the reserve.

Police say no other collisions or injuries occurred during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
