A coroner’s inquest is scheduled to look into the death of a 19-year-old northern Saskatchewan man who died while in remand after being charged with murder.
John Bob Glen Custer had been remanded at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre in relation to the death of a 40-year-old Pelican Narrows woman in 2013.
Custer had been charged with second-degree murder after Heather Ballantyne was found strangled to death near the community.
Correction workers at the centre found Custer dead in his cell on November 24, 2013.
The inquest into his death will take place next week at Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert.
