Lower-cost heating options for northern Saskatchewan will be the topic of an open meeting in Buffalo Narrows on Saturday.
Athabasca MLA Buckley Belanger will be meeting to discuss his project to identify lower cost options for heating the north.
Belanger says there are a variety of heating options that could be available for residents in the region.
“We think it’s time to start the argument that the northwest needs other options like natural gas,” says Belanger. “Some of that work will be talked about tomorrow and we will discuss other options like the natural gas option.”
The NDP MLA says the high cost of monthly utility bills continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing northern residents. He says he wants to discuss with the community ways to make the utility bills easier to handle.
The meeting will start at 1:00 pm at the Buffalo Narrows Lakeview Complex.
