The McArthur River uranium mine has been recognized for safety performance.
The Cameco mine was awarded the John T. Ryan Trophy for the best safety performance in the metal mine category for 2014.
Kevin Quesnel, general ganager for the site, says they are proud of the accomplishment. He says consistency has been the key to their success.
“We have consistently lived our core value of safety at the site for a long time. People are concerned about their safety as well as the safety of their teammates.”
This is the fourth time McArthur River has won the award.
The other wins came in 2013, 2009 and 2000.
