The evacuations and special advisories continue in northern Saskatchewan as the hot, dry weather continues.
An evacuation notice was issued for Grandmother’s Bay Sunday as officials with Wildfire Management reported a wildfire was about 9-kilometers from the community.
Residents were being transported to Stanely Mission.
Evacuations were also announced for English Bay, Wadin Bay and Sucker River after the Eli fire jumped across Highway 102.
The Highway was also closed until further notice.
Highway 2 south of La Ronge in the Weyakwin area also remains closed.
Evacuations were also anounced for Weyakwin, Ramsey Bay, Timber Bay and Montreal Lake.
On the west side of the province, residents of Clearwater River Dene Nation and La Loche with health concerns were also being moved out due to the smoke in the area.
Officials with the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region also issued a health advisory for the La Ronge area on Sunday because of smoke in the area.
There is currently no immediate threat of fire to the Town of La Ronge.
Road closures include Highway 102 north of La Ronge near the Don Allen ski trails, Highway 2 south of La Ronge in the Weyakwin area,
Highway 969 in the Molanosa area and Highway 914 in the Pinehouse Lake area.
All road closures are until further notice and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
