Ministry of Highways and Infrustrature notice for permanent residents who are south from Stanley Mission, Grandmother’s Bay, Missinipe, Brabant Lake, Southend and the Athabasca Basin

The evacuation order has NOT been lifted for the La Ronge area, Sucker River, and Hall Lake.

If you were evacuated due to smoke conditions, health officials have not recommended a return home due to continued poor air quality.

The escorted convoy depends on fire activity.

The escorted convoy will take place 5-8 p.m. today only, (if conditions are favourable).

The plan is for vehicles to be at the road closure on Highway 2 south of La Ronge Sunday, July 12, 2015. 5 p.m.  – 8:00 p.m.

Please bring identification. All tourists, distant business owners and visitors will be turned away.

An escort will lead the convoy through(will stop at a gas station if required) then on to Sucker River where vehicles will proceed without escort.
