Highway 102 north of Sucker River will be open for general traffic, starting Thursday, July 16.
Road access north of Lac La Ronge is not currently under immediate threat by fire, and so travel on Highway 102 will be open for residents, businesses and visitors.
However, travelers must still be escorted by authorities through the evacuated zone in the La Ronge area, from 10 km south of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, northwards past Sucker River.
Those escorts, northwards and southwards, will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be no access to communities and subdivisions currently under evacuation order: Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Air Ronge, La Ronge, Eagle Point, Lamp Lake, English Bay, Nemeiben Lake, Wadin Bay and Sucker River.
Travellers can expect delays, depending on the availability of escort vehicles, and fire conditions.
New fire threats can still cause roads to be closed.
Travellers are urged to drive safely on all routes, and should bring sufficient supplies in case roads are again closed by increased fire threat.
