For the next several weeks leading up to the federal election, Indigenous Vote Sask will try to get as many First Nations and Metis people registered to vote.

The group plans to hold five voter registration drives in Saskatoon.

Spokesperson Glenda Abbott says they are willing to help communities if they need information about how to register a voter.

The long campaign doesn’t sit well with Abbott.

“It definitely put fire under our feet to start mobilizing a little quicker.  So we started a few registration drives,” says Abbott.  “I think that having the longest campaign since the 1800’s is pretty devastating.  It created a lot of unfairness.”
