Things might be moving forward at the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan.

A court ruled this week that president Robert Doucette failed to prove members of the Provincial Metis Council ignored a court order to have an assembly.

Doucette sent a request to the council following the order calling for a meeting to set a date for a legislative assembly.

“I received a response from Derek Langan from Yorkton saying he’s available at any time,” he says. “Chester Herman sent me an uglier e-mail which I don’t care to say in front of the press, but it wasn’t a very nice e-mail.”

Despite the unpleasantries, Doucette says Herman did write he will attend the meeting.

MN-S vice-president Gerald Morin says he will also attend.
