The RCMP is looking for information after two men in a half-ton truck pulled over and offered candy and a ride to girls on the Little Red River reserve on Saturday.

At about 10 p.m., the two 12-year-old girls refused the offer, and the driver got out and tried to grab one of them, according to a Prince Albert RCMP news release.

Both girls ran away and were not hurt.

The men were in a light-coloured extended cab truck with an air compressor in the back. The driver is described as an aboriginal man, around 30 years old, with a heavy build. He was wearing red pants with white stripes on the sides and a thick black sweater. Because the other man stayed in the truck, the RCMP has no details on his appearance.

Prince Albert RCMP is investigating this attempted abduction, and asks anyone with information to contact the detachment at 306-765-5500 or CrimeStoppers.

Little Red is north of Prince Albert.
