A national justice conference that gets underway in Saskatoon on Wednesday will discuss the role justice plays in the lives of aboriginal people.

The “Aboriginal Peoples and Law: We Are All Here To Stay” conference is a response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

University of Saskatchewan’s Marilyn Poitras says the final TRC report has left a lot of homework for people.  Justice Murray Sinclair is the head of the commission.

“We’re all trying to figure out what those responsibilities are so we’re going to have a keynote kick off from Justice Sinclair,” says Poitras, “to sort of to talk about what he’s learned, what he hopes other people have learned, what opportunities are open because of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in terms of justice relationships in Canada.”

The conference starts on Wednesday and runs until Friday.
