Saskatchewan’s Sergeant at Arms has lost his patience with public urinators using the legislative building as a place to relieve themselves.

For three or four years now, party buses have been pulling up to the legislative building and letting passengers off who then pee on the front steps or the side of the building, said Sergeant at Arms, Patrick Shaw.

He says he has asked the companies to cease and desist, but it is still happening.

“And it doesn’t seem to matter if it’s winter, spring, summer or fall – and it’s men and women,” Shaw said.  “We’ve asked these companies repeatedly to stop doing it and we have been met with jocularity.”

Security video of the last incident was released to the media on Wednesday. It shows one man walking up to the building, then relieving himself beside a door.

Three party bus companies are involved. Regina police and the Wascana Centre police are also involved in the investigation, but so far no charges have been laid.

Shaw is hoping a public shaming may help curtail the problem.
