Thirteen bravery awards are being handed out in Regina today by Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor.

Among those being recognized are Patrick and Jeremy Witchekan.

They are credited with saving a family from a burning home on the Witchekan Lake First Nation in March 2014.

An RCMP officer is also being recognized for putting his life at risk to save a drowning man on the Moosomin First Nation in July of 2014.

Police were trying to arrest the man for assault when he tried to escape by swimming across a slough.

He started to go under when Cst. Colby Rennie jumped in to save him.

The awards are presented by the Canadian Humane Association.

The ceremony is this afternoon at Government House.
