A Saskatoon community-based group will hold a grand opening for a centre that will offer a place for groups to meet and work on projects.

The Stand will officially open on Saturday at 615 Main Street in Saskatoon.

Treaty 6 Justice Collective board member Michelle Beveridge says socially-minded groups had nowhere to do their work.

“And we realized that there is just a lack of capacity in the community right now for us to meet, to have places to work, to be able to talk to each other and share ideas and just provide support for each other,” she says.

In the afternoon, local community organizations will make presentations about their initiatives.

And in the evening, Guy Vanderhaeghe will read from his book “Daddy Lenin”.
