A 25-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a death last fall in Regina.

Jason Dustin Hotomanie from the Broadview area was scheduled to make a court appearance in Regina this morning.

On October 22, police were called to a home in the 2200 block of Robinson Street regarding an injured person.

When officers arrived, they found the body of 48-year-old Matthew Wells.

He was the eighth homicide victim in Regina in 2015.

The Major Crimes Unit and the coroner were brought in to assist with the investigation.

In December, a 15-year-old Regina boy was also charged in the case.

Besides second-degree murder, Hotomanie faces charges in connection with two other incidents.

They include theft over $5,000, arson and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
