The RCMP is investigating some serious allegations of a possible abduction that ended in the Big River area.

The details are still being confirmed at this point.

It was just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning that Big River RCMP got a call from an 18-year-old woman who says she had been kidnapped.

The detachment’s staff sergeant, Lyle Korczak, confirms they’re investigating the alleged abduction.

What they know so far is that the woman had departed Prince Albert on Friday — and they weren’t aware of the potential harm this woman endured until she was able to call from a safe place on Sunday.

She was no longer in a crisis at that time, but she did have to go to the hospital.

The RCMP says its general investigation section is assisting in this case.

No charges have been laid at this time, but the Mounties are following up on the victim’s complaint.
