The leaders of the province’s two main political parties visited the north on the Easter weekend.
Saskatchewan Party leader Brad Wall and N-D-P leader Cam Broten both made stops in La Ronge.
Wall spoke to supporters at the campaign office of Sask Party candidate Thomas Sierzycki on Monday and later visited businesses in the downtown area.
Wall defended his government’s record in the north, saying more funding is being provided to the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region than ever before in the past.
On Saturday Cam Broten attended a public event along with New Democrat Doyle Vermette who is running for re-election.
Broten says the N-D-P would implement a Northern Highways Strategy, including an all-weather road to Wollaston Lake.
He also says his party would reduce electricity rates for northern residents and businesses.
