Sexual assault charges have been laid after an RCMP investigation on a Saskatchewan reserve that involved a part-time employee at an elementary school.
RCMP say George Gamble is charged with three counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and five counts of sexual exploitation.
Police say Gamble, who is 23, made his first court appearance last week and is to appear again April 20.
The Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation council said in a statement that it fired a part-time employee at the school, but did not say why.
The council said it called in the RCMP and social services to ensure student safety.
It said its actions were guided by a provincial child abuse protocol and help was being made available.
