The La Ronge Ice Wolves continue to look for a new head coach and general manager after showing Shawn Martin the door earlier this week.

President Mike Bell said this morning that the team has received around eight resumes and also had around a dozen other people inquire about the job.

Bell stated that they have had a wide range of applicants that have experience in a number of leagues.

“It ranges pretty much from Midget AAA, Junior “B” and even a few Junior “A” coaches,” said Bell.

Bell is hopeful they will start the interview process next week.

“We’ve set up a hiring committee that’s currently reviewing the resumes that we have,” said Bell. “Hopefully early next week we can shortlist that to a few that will move on to the interview process.”

The position has also garnered interest from the USA. In the meantime, Eric Bell is the acting head coach, while Terry “Moose” Hunt and Rob Wilson will serve as assistants.

The Ice Wolves are back in action tonight when they host the Estevan Bruins at the Mel Hegland Uniplex. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 pm.
