The Crown Investments Corporation and the University of Saskatchewan are setting up a program to help improve the math and science skills of Aboriginal students.
The Math and Science Enrichment Program will assist 50 Aboriginal students at the U of S every year.
The goal is to prepare them for careers in fields related to the maths and sciences.
Program director Dave Cowan says part of that effort will be making math and science more relevant to Aboriginal students by connecting those subjects to traditional Indigneous knowledge.
The program is part of the CIC’s five-year strategy to hire more young and Aboriginal people in Saskatchewan’s Crown Corporations.
