It’s nearing the one-year anniversary of the shooting that rocked La Loche, and the northern community is holding public memorial events today.
A lot has changed in La Loche since the January 22nd shooting that took the lives of Dayne and Drayden Fontaine, Marie Janvier and Adam Wood.
Education initiatives have been brought to the community, and La Loche recently elected a new mayor.
This afternoon, new mayor Robert St. Pierre will be leading speeches at a media-friendly event.
The community is asking for privacy during the actual anniversary.
