The White Buffalo Youth Lodge and the Saskatoon Indian and Metis Friendship Centre are among six organizations in that city to receive extra funding through the federal government’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy.
The extra funding will be about a million dollars, which will allow for continued financial support and the hiring of additional staff.
This is on top of 1.3 million dollars in funding that was already committed until March of 2018.
Other organizations that will receive extra funding include the Lighthouse Shelter, Saskatoon Crisis Intervention and the YWCA.
