Heavily armed officers made some dramatic arrests at a home in Prince Albert on Tuesday.
The tactical team was executing a high-risk search warrant in the 100-block of 25th Street East and was quickly able to take a number of people into custody.
Four people were outside the home when officers arrived. Of those, three were arrested immediately while the fourth, 21-year-old suspect Jonathan Tremblay, allegedly obstructed officers. Police engaged their canine officer to capture the individual who fled.
Four other people in the home surrendered peacefully.
On Wednesday, more than 70 firearms charges have been laid against five males: Rene Jobe Merasty, 18, and Conrad Merasty, 27, both of Flying Dust; Joshua Dustin Whitedeer, 22, and Tremblay, both of Prince Albert; and a 16-year-old from La Ronge.
Tremblay faces a charge of obstructing an officer, while all other charges are firearms-related.
They made their first court appearances Wednesday.
Police seized three sawed-off shotguns and ammunition from the home.
Prince Albert Police say the Integrated Street Enforcement Team and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) spearheaded the operation with help from members of the Tactical Unit.
