A judge in Prince Albert has set a date for a former high-ranking government employee to go to trial.
Murdoch Carriere will appear in Court of Queen’s Bench on September 19th.
He is charged with assaulting four women — two of them sexually — during his time as a director with Saskatchewan Environment.
Carriere, who is originally from Cumberland House, was initially charged in November of 2003 after a report detailing allegations of sexual impropriety wound up in a Saskatoon newspaper.
Carriere has since filed a lawsuit against the paper for defamation, as well as the minister responsible for its release – Joanne Crawford.
Carriere has already elected to be tried by judge and jury.
His trial is scheduled to wrap up on September 30th.
