A new chief and a councillor have been elected by members of the Cumberland House Cree Nation.
A by-election was held yesterday, and Rene Chaboyer was elected to the position of chief. He replaces Lorne Stewart, who resigned from the position in May.
Beverly Goulet was elected to band council.
The results of the vote are still unofficial at this point, although both candidates won by sizeable margins.
