An inmate has been charged after the death of another inmate at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert this week.
RCMP say 28-year-old Tyler Vandewater has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.
It follows the death of 37-year-old Christopher Van Camp on Wednesday. The Major Crimes Unit was brought in to investigate.
Vandewater is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court next week.
Van Camp was the second inmate to die on Wednesday at the penitentiary.
Earlier in the day, 44-year-old Daniel Tokarchuk, was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. He had been serving a life sentence for second-degree murder with no set date for parole eligibility.
So far, there has been no word on what caused his death.
