The chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is asking for privacy as members deal with the recent burns suffered by two children.

Tammy Cook-Searson says the children have returned home, but they have a long recovery ahead of them.

“This is a very difficult time for our community, however we have the necessary support services in place and we have the full confidence in the staff of our Lac La Ronge Indian Child and Family Services Agency to continue their work with the affected children and their families,” said Cook-Searson.

The chief is also thanking community member who called for emergency assistance, nurses, doctors, paramedics and RCMP who provided assistance last weekend.
