A float plane was used this weekend to transport an injured person from a trapline north of La Ronge to hospital.

On Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m., RCMP received a call about an injured 33-year-old man who was located at a trapline.

Paramedics were transported to the location, 160 kilometres north of La Ronge, in a float plane. The man was located and airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP are reminding campers, those attending traplines and hikers to be prepared for emergency situations.

It is recommended to bring a fully charged cellular or satellite phone and advise family or friends about your travel itinerary.
