The mayor of La Ronge will be on an extended medical leave while he recovers in hospital.
Ron Woytowich was taken to a Saskatoon hospital earlier this month.
His family has asked for privacy in the matter and the nature of the illness has not been confirmed at this time.
In the meantime, La Ronge’s Town Administrator says deputy mayor Glen Watchel will take over the mayoral duties.
Operations at the town are expected to resume as normal.
There is no timeline yet for when or if Woytowich can return to his post.
