This year’s rendition of the Flicks International Film Festival promises to have a strong First Nations flavour.

Two animated features by Canadian Aboriginal filmmakers Carol Geddes and Simon James will be on display.

Festival organizer Caralee Millroy says both films deal with First Nations lore and mythology.

She also says Geddes will be offering a workshop for young Aboriginal actors.

Saskatchewan Aboriginal filmmaker and newspaper columnist Doug Cuthand will also be present for the festival.

The event kicks off Thursday morning at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon with the showing of student pieces.
