RCMP continue to investigate the discovery of the body of a missing man from the Beardy’s/Okemasis First Nation.

Rosthern RCMP say the body of 52-year-old Nelson Micheal Thomas was located Friday afternoon in Beardy’s through the efforts of a police service dog and its handler.

The Mounties say Thomas was located just north of the new village on the reserve, adjacent to Highway 212.

Thomas was last seen alive on the Beardy’s reserve the morning of April 2nd.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and Identification Section out of Saskatoon are currently assisting in the investigation into his death.

However, the Mounties say there is no indication at this time that foul play was involved.

An autopsy has been ordered.
