A number of business leaders from across North America will be viewing northern Saskatchewan by plane the next few days.

They are taking part in an annual travel trade event called Rendez-vous Canada, which began in Saskatoon last week.

The government-sponsored gathering is designed to match buyers of tourism-related opportunities from around the world with sellers from Canada.

This year, Saskatchewan was picked to host the event, and Tourism Saskatchewan president Roy Anderson says it’s already been a success.

He says dozens of business representatives have shown interest in Saskatchewan destinations.

He notes one planeload of delegates flew over Missinipe the other day and more trips are planned.

He expects some of the experiences and services available in northern Saskatchewan should draw interest.

Anderson says delegates are also being offered a trip to Batoche, as well as other tours of Aboriginal significance.

Rendez-vous Canada wraps up on Wednesday.

Anderson hopes the business partnerships it is generating are felt for years to come.
