Bear Skeleton Mistaken For Human Remains

The RCMP thought they were dealing with a case of found human remains in Montreal Lake today, but it turned out to be something far less serious.

Skeletal remains were reportedly discovered in the community at about 8:30 this morning, and in the early going at least, the Mounties were told the remains were believed to be of human origin.

The local RCMP detachment even notified the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit in Saskatoon and the Identification Section in Prince Albert about the discovery.

However, upon further investigation, it was determined they are the remains of a young bear.
